How I Became A Vegan Cake Maker Living In Bristol
A Dream To Make Eco Friendly Vegan Cakes In Bristol…
I got into cake making by complete accident. When I first met my partner Tom, I decided to make him a birthday cake and it pretty much just snowballed from there. After becoming vegan myself back in 2018, I jumped into the world of vegan baking. Luckily for me, I found myself living in Bristol, one of the vegan capitals of Europe! I've been obsessed with making vegan cakes ever since, especially ones bursting with flavour, colour and personality.
The thing I love most about making cakes is the idea of bringing joy to other people and helping them celebrate life, whatever the occassion. Most of all it doesn’t matter who that is, if you have children with an allergy, you just want to mark your own special occassion, or you believe in supporting local businesses and buying sustainably. I can promise you, that I will create a completely unique experience for you, so that your celebration is truely unforgettable!
The Journey That Never Really Ends…
I’m proud to say that nearly all of the main ingredients I use in my cakes are purchased at my local zero waste shop. If I can’t find an ingredient there, I’m seeking out products and companies that are eco friendly or at the very least champion sustainability as one of their core values. I also invest in equipment that allows me to create more eco friendly decorating alternatives. I’d much rather make it edible, than end up in landfill!
This is very much a work in progress and I am aware that this journey will never really end because there is always more that can be done. I am committed to continuously seeking out new products and methods so that I can do what I truly love, while still feeling confident that I am doing everything I possibly can to help protect our beautiful planet. To me that is worth its weight in gold!
